King’s Business School launches innovative online consulting project with Benifex
18.03.26
King’s Business School has launched a new practice-based Research and Consultancy Project module for students on its online programme, in collaboration with global employee benefits and reward platform, Benifex.
This Research and Consultancy Project will provide students with an authentic consulting experience, enabling them to apply academic research and HRM theory to a realistic organizational challenge within a carefully designed project environment. Students will take on the role of HRM consultants, developing evidence-based insights and recommendations informed by contemporary HR practice.
The collaboration is led on the Benifex side by Gethin Nadin, their Chief Innovation Officer, and , alongside a wider Benifex project team. The King’s Business School academic leads are , Programme Director on the online MSc, and Vicky Richards-Hobman, co-tutor on the project.
Designed specifically for online learners, the module brings together a range of digital learning elements, including curated resources, interactive materials and live engagement opportunities, enabling students to experience consultancy-style project work within a structured and academically rigorous framework.
The initiative reflects the Business School’s commitment to innovative, applied learning within its online programs, supporting the development of critical thinking, research capability and professional skills relevant to global HR roles.
Gethin Nadin, Chief Innovation Officer at Benifex, said:
“This program gives students a level of practical, hands-on exposure that is rare in HR education. They’re not just learning theory, they’re working with real organizational challenges, data, and commercial constraints. By stepping into the role of a Benifex consultant, students are developing the skills that actually matter in practice: research discipline, ROI modelling, data interpretation, and trend forecasting. That kind of applied learning is exactly what’s been missing in much of higher-level HR education, and we’re proud to be helping close that gap.”
A spokesperson from King’s Business School added:
“We are really excited to be working with Benifex on this project. It has been designed to be authentic to the role of global HR professionals with the application of research techniques, a consulting approach, and evidence of problem-solving skills to address the business issue with actionable recommendations. Together with Benifex we hope to support the development of, and inspire, the next generation of HR leaders.”
The launch of the Project module marks an important milestone in the continued development of practice-based learning within King’s Business School’s online programs, highlighting the value of collaboration between academia and industry in supporting students’ professional development in the field of global HRM.
