Highly engaged employees are happier, more productive, more likely to become brand ambassadors and more likely to remain with their current employer longer. What\u2019s more, organizations with highly engaged employees see increased profitability. Yes, employee engagement is <em>that<\/em> important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">As employees, enjoying our work, using our strengths, feeling connected to company values and feeling that what we do matters have all been shown to increase employee engagement and support retention.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Countless sources have also made the connection between employee benefits and employee engagement. We recently conducted a survey of more than 19,000 employees and HR leaders for our <a href=\"https:\/\/info.benify.com\/happiness-index-2019\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Benify Score survey<\/a>. So,&nbsp;do employee benefits really contribute to employee engagement? The answer is a resounding yes.<\/span><\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Benefits Satisfaction and Engagement<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The results from our ground-breaking survey have been published in our new <a href=\"https:\/\/info.benify.com\/employee-benefits-report\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Employee Benefits Report<\/a>. Our study reveals that employees who are most satisfied with their total benefits offer estimate their own level of engagement 11.5% higher than the average and 25.3% higher than those who are least satisfied. Moreover, the proportion of employees who see themselves as ambassadors for their employer is also 21.5% higher among those who are most satisfied with their benefits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Findings from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shrm.org\/hr-today\/trends-and-forecasting\/research-and-surveys\/Documents\/2018%20Employee%20Benefits%20Report.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SHRM\u2019s 2018 Employee Benefits Report<\/a> found a similar connection to employee benefits and employee engagement. In SHRM\u2019s survey on job satisfaction and engagement, 92% of employees indicated that benefits are important to their overall job satisfaction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.hubspot.net\/hubfs\/2798830\/All%20Markets\/Blog%20images\/employee-benefits-are-important-for-overall-job-satisfaction.jpg\" alt=\"employee-benefits-are-important-for-overall-job-satisfaction\" width=\"1100\" style=\"width: 1100px; margin: 0px;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">How Employee Benefits Contribute to Engagement<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Offering employee benefits is a powerful way to show your employees that you support their wellbeing, inside and outside of work. Your benefits offering shows that you support the \u201cwhole person\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Employee engagement cannot be created in a vacuum.<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">The likelihood of us being engaged in our work increases by feeling&nbsp;connected&nbsp;to the c<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">ompany values,&nbsp;our co-workers and working<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> together<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">for <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">a unified cause. In other words, employee engagement&nbsp;<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">goes<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> hand-in-hand with company culture.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">With multiple generations sharing the workplace today, it\u2019s crucial that your benefits offer has \u201csomething for everyone\u201d. By that, we mean that your benefits meet the needs of each individual and each generation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Packaging It Up<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In the war for talent, the value of a company\u2019s benefits offering cannot be overstated. Gone are the days where employees go to work simply to collect a pay-check; today\u2019s employees want more. Since we spend the majority of our waking hours working, allowing employees to adjust their schedules or work from home when needed is a benefit that every employee values.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A flexible work policy allows employees to attend personal obligations when necessary and, as a result, makes employees feel understood, respected and supported by their employer.
