Below, we offer five simple tips on how you can protect your mental health during the coronavirus situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1. Minimize Reading or Listening to News<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Staying informed about developments is important, but for many of us, watching or reading the news can create more anxiety and worry than necessary. Seek information updates at specific times during the day, once or twice. The sudden and near-constant stream of news reports about an outbreak can cause anyone to feel worried. Get the facts; not rumors and misinformation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">No one knows exactly how the next few months will develop, therefore, it\u2019s important not to \u201cbuy into\u201d speculation. If you are using social media, such as Facebook, keep an open mind about the information that appears in your feed. Additionally, look at what information you, yourself, are sharing. To avoid being overloaded with negative news and misinformation, perhaps limit the amount of time you spend on social media.
