Covey, author of the best-selling book, The Speed of Trust, says, \u201cWhen trust goes down\u2014in a relationship, on a team, in a company, in an industry, with a customer\u2014speed decreases with it. Everything takes longer. Simultaneously, costs increase. Redundancy processes, with everyone checking up on everyone else, cost more.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Karyn Twaronite, Partner and Global Diversity &amp; Inclusiveness Officer at EY, <a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2016\/07\/a-global-survey-on-the-ambiguous-state-of-employee-trust\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wrote an article for Harvard Business Review <\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">where she shares findings from an EY survey. The results found that people believe a high level of trust in their company would have a significant influence on them being happier at work, staying at the company, doing higher-quality work, being more engaged and productive, and recommending the company to others. Yes, trust is that important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/williamcraig\/2018\/10\/16\/10-things-transparency-can-do-for-your-company\/#eb9dc925d0f5\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A Forbes article<\/a> refers to one study where employees say that company transparency is the number-one factor in determining their workplace happiness. The article shares, \u201cTransparency fosters trust, and trust is important for the health of every relationship under the sun.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Transparency Fosters Trust<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Why there are many ways companies can increase trust and transparency, the least by focusing on <a href=\"\/want-to-increase-employee-engagement-focus-on-workplace-culture\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">workplace culture<\/a>, making employees aware of their total compensation package and their employer\u2019s investment in them is one such way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Reward communication is essential for creating transparency. <a href=\"\/what-is-a-total-rewards-statement-trs\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A Total Reward Statement (TRS)<\/a> is a powerful tool that provides employees with an illustrated breakdown of their total compensation package, including benefits, pensions and all the other elements that make up their total reward. <a href=\"https:\/\/info.benify.com\/the-compensation-gap-report\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Our findings<\/a> show that eight out of ten employees underestimate their total compensation package. The results reveal that, on average, employees who are most satisfied with their benefits offering give themselves an engagement rating of 9.1 out of 10 \u2013 up to a fifth more than those who are least satisfied. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A key component to benefits and compensation satisfaction is feeling valued by your employer and that your employer has invested in you.
